All are invited!

The 46th Annual Trent Temagami Colloquium will take place September 19th to 22nd 2019 at Camp Wanapitei in Temagami, Ontario. Because of renovations to the kitchen and dining hall at Camp Wanapitei in September 2018, there won't be a colloquium for fall 2018.  We welcome comments and ideas from past participants for ensuring the colloquium continues strongly in 2019.

This annual event is sponsored by a number of academic programs at Trent and the Bruce and Carol Hodgins Fund and seeks to examine and experience our understanding of the land with a focus on the study of Canadian, environmental, and Indigenous issues. This unique event celebrates interdisciplinary, experiential learning.

Everyone - faculty, staff, alumni and students - is invited! A special invitation is extended to all international students and scholars.
We travel to Wanapitei for the beauty and remoteness of its location. The Temagami country is rich in history and home to generations of Teme-Augama-Anishnabai.

Each day, faculty and students will organize into small groups for guided hiking and canoe trips in the immediate region. Expeditions will be tailored to suit the skill level of participants. Instruction in canoeing will be offered to those indicating an interest. Each group will pack a lunch and eat on the land. Late afternoon and evening programs will include lectures, films, readings, square dancing, and informal discussion.

Each year, we invite a number of people to share papers and presentations related to the colloquium themes around the land. If you are interested in presenting your work and research, please contact us.

The cost of the weekend colloquium, including transportation, food, activities and accommodation will likely be $150 for students, $220 for faculty, staff, or community members, and $85 for children under 12. Participants need to bring warm sleeping bags and clothes. More details about logistics are provided here. The absolute deadline for payment is Monday, September 16th, 2019. But space is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Register early!

  2. It is important that your associates see you as the kind of forward-thinking organization anyone would be only too happy to work with. Meetings offer crucial opportunities to reach out to new clients and strengthen those bonds with existing clients, so always use the best convention center out there.
